Dear Queens United Community . . .

TOSHA-LYN FRANCIS, PRINCIPAL

Consistent access to equal opportunities and equity in resources has been a long-standing issue in our community.  While there have been many victories in the fight for equality by countless pioneers, there is still much work to be done.  Therefore, during this time of national reckoning regarding racism and systemic prejudice, Queens United reaffirms our belief in education as a powerful equalizer and our belief in every student’s right to an education of the highest quality.  Since my leadership started in July 2018, the Queens United Team has worked to rectify systemic inequities by preparing our students for limitless opportunities regardless of race, language, gender, disability, and socio-economic status.  Your consistent partnership toward this goal is one of the best ways to show that the lives of all children of color do indeed matter.

Dear QUMS Families,

As you may know, we ask families to fill out a Family Income Inquiry Form each school year. The Family Income Inquiry Form is a key factor in determining whether your child’s school is eligible to receive Title I and other funding. For example, Title I provides resources for programs and services to eligible schools. By submitting this form, you can help ensure that funding for our school continues to get the funding and resources we need and deserve.  We encourage you to complete a Family Income Inquiry Form online by October 15th.  Please go to: www.myschoolapps.com and follow these steps:

Step #1:  Add the school

Step #2: Add QUMS Zip code-11413

Step #3: Select State-NY

Step #4: Select NY City Schools

Online forms are submitted using your student’s 9-digit ID number. Please reach out to your child's guidance counselor or Ms. Rodriguez, our parent coordinator, for the OSIS number or any other questions you have. We are also sending a hard copy version of this form as well.

Thanks in advance,

The QUMS Lunch Form Committee
